One UPPRPB rule book for SI Confidential, ASI Clerk, ASI Accounts and Computer Operator Grade A. You type English (30 WPM) and Hindi (25 WPM) for 15 minutes each, with at least 85% accuracy counted against the whole passage. Hindi must be typed in Mangal InScript, and you must clear every language your post requires.
For LDC and JSA posts: one 10-minute typing test in the language you chose when applying - 35 WPM (10,500 key depressions an hour) in English or 30 WPM (9,000) in Hindi. Errors are capped at 7% for UR and EWS and 10% for other categories. The screen has no word or error highlighting, and backspace is allowed.
One 10-minute test in the language you choose: 35 WPM net in English or 30 WPM net in Hindi (Mangal font). Mistakes up to 5% of the words you type are free; each one after that deducts 10 words. You type from a printed passage, with backspace allowed.
One 15-minute typing test in English (30 WPM) or Hindi (25 WPM), taken straight after the written test. Your written test is marked only if you qualify the typing test, so it decides whether your score counts at all. Accuracy of 85% is reported as required, backspace is allowed, and Hindi is typed in Mangal InScript or Remington GAIL.
Only Assistant Review Officer (ARO) candidates take this test; Review Officers are exempt. You type Hindi for 5 minutes and need 25 WPM net, in Kruti Dev 010 or Mangal InScript. Mistakes up to 5% of the words you type are allowed, and backspace works only within the word you are typing.
Junior Assistant and Paid Apprentice: 10 minutes each of English (30 WPM net, about 300 words) and Hindi (25 WPM net, about 250 words) on the NTA computer console. Each test is worth 25 marks, you need at least 10 in both, and the marks count towards your merit. Hindi is typed in Mangal InScript only.
Computer Operator-cum-Typist: 10 minutes of English (40 WPM, 400 words) and 10 minutes of Hindi (30 WPM, 300 words), both compulsory. Your accuracy percentage is your mark out of 100, with at least 90% needed in English and 85% in Hindi. Hindi is typed in Mangal on the Remington GAIL layout, with no word or error highlighting on screen.
For Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Junior Secretariat Assistants: a 10-minute typing test on computer at 35 WPM in English or 30 WPM in Hindi, plus a Computer Proficiency Test. The typing test is qualifying, backspace is allowed, and recent tests showed no word or error highlighting on screen.
For the clerk-cum-typist posts at Graduate and Undergraduate level: 10 minutes in English (30 WPM) or Hindi (25 WPM), with no backspace at all. Mistakes up to 5% of the words you type are forgiven, and each one after that deducts 10 words. Hindi is typed in Kruti Dev 010 or Mangal on the Remington GAIL layout.
For Junior Administrative Assistant, LDC, UDC and Senior Administrative Assistant posts in the AIIMS Common Recruitment Exam: 35 WPM in English or 30 WPM in Hindi on computer. Every mistake costs 10 words, there is no free allowance, and recent tests had no word or error highlighting, though backspace was allowed.
For Rajasthan LDC / Clerk Grade II and Junior Assistant: a 10-minute Hindi speed test (400 words, DevLys 010) and a 10-minute English speed test (500 words). Every correct word earns marks - 0.0625 in Hindi, 0.05 in English - and you need 9 of 25 in each paper. Once you press Space, the previous word is locked.
For Rajasthan High Court Clerk Grade II (LDC), Junior Judicial Assistant and Junior Assistant: a computer speed test of 5 minutes in Hindi (Kruti Dev 010) and 5 minutes in English, 25 marks each, at a minimum of 8,000 key depressions an hour. Backspace and the arrow keys are disabled, so every key counts.
The Madhya Pradesh Computer Proficiency Certification Test typing section: 15 minutes of English and 15 minutes of Hindi (InScript or Remington GAIL). You need 30 net WPM in English and 20 in Hindi for a qualifying score, and each wrong word is taken off. Backspace is allowed, and the screen highlights words and errors.
For Delhi government JSA, LDC, Junior Assistant and DASS Grade IV posts: one 10-minute typing test in the language you chose when applying - 35 WPM (10,500 key depressions an hour) in English or 30 WPM (9,000) in Hindi. Errors are reported to be capped at 7% for UR and 10% for reserved categories. Backspace is allowed.
For Punjab Clerk, Clerk (Legal) and Clerk-cum-DEO posts: 10 minutes of Punjabi in Raavi on the InScript keyboard and 10 minutes of English. You need a gross speed of 30 WPM and at least 92% accuracy in both, and every mistake costs 5 characters. The passage comes in 10 chunks of about 33 words, and all of them must be typed.
For MPSC Group C Clerk-Typist and Tax Assistant posts: one 10-minute computer typing test in the language you chose when applying - Marathi at 30 WPM (1,500 key strokes) on the Remington Marathi keyboard, or English at 40 WPM (2,000 key strokes). Errors must stay within 7% of the passage. The test is qualifying.
Maharashtra's Government Certificate in Computer Typing (MSCE Pune) at 30 WPM: a 7-minute speed passage of about 210 words in Marathi, English or Hindi, worth 40 marks. Every mistake or extra word costs a mark, and you need 16 to pass - at most 24 mistakes.

For Clerk posts at the Bombay High Court and its Nagpur and Aurangabad benches: a 10-minute English typing test on computer, on a 400-word passage, worth 20 marks. You need at least 10 marks, or you are out of the selection. The marks also count towards the final merit.
The SSC typing test for Delhi Police Head Constable (Ministerial): 10 minutes from a printed passage, 30 WPM in English or 25 WPM in Hindi. Speed is key strokes / 5 over 10 minutes, and every mistake takes 1 WPM off. Up to 25 marks.
