01About this test
UPPRPB typing skill test for SI Confidential, ASI Clerk, ASI Accounts and Computer Operator Grade A. It is qualifying: you must clear the speed and 85% accuracy in every language your post requires.
02Rules
- 1Each mock test uses its own fixed passage, so you can retake it and compare results.
- 2Duration: 15 minutes per language. English is typed first, then a 10-minute break, then Hindi.
- 3Speed: 30 WPM in English and 25 WPM in Hindi (15 WPM in Hindi for ASI Accounts).
- 4Accuracy: at least 85%, counted as net correct words out of the words in the passage.
- 5Full mistakes (1 each): omitted, wrong, extra, misspelt, repeated or incomplete words. Half mistakes (0.5 each): spacing, capitalisation, punctuation, transposition and paragraph errors.
- 6Start each new paragraph with the Tab key - spaces count as a half mistake.
- 7Hindi is typed in Mangal on the InScript layout; Kruti Dev and Remington GAIL are not allowed in the real exam.
03How you are scored
Speed = words typed / 15 minutes. Accuracy = (words typed - full mistakes - half mistakes x 0.5) / words in the passage x 100.
04Important notes
- The typing test is qualifying - its marks are not added to the merit list.
