01About this test
SSC CHSL typing test for LDC and JSA posts. You type in one language - the one chosen in your application - and the test is qualifying.
02Rules
- 1Each mock test uses its own fixed passage, so you can retake it and compare results.
- 2Duration: 10 minutes.
- 3Speed: 35 WPM (10,500 key depressions an hour) in English or 30 WPM (9,000) in Hindi.
- 4Error limit: 7% for UR and EWS, 10% for OBC, SC, ST, PwBD and ESM, counted against the words in the passage.
- 5Full mistakes count 1; half mistakes (spacing, capitalisation, punctuation, transposition, paragraph) count 0.5.
- 6Backspace, Delete and the arrow keys work. Start each paragraph with Tab.
- 7The exam screen has no word or error highlighting and no auto-scroll.
03How you are scored
Error % = (full mistakes + half mistakes x 0.5) / words in the passage x 100. Speed is measured in key depressions; 5 key depressions = 1 word.
04Important notes
- The typing test is qualifying - your merit comes from Tier II.
- DEO posts take a separate Data Entry Speed Test.
Ready for Mock 1?
