01About this test
RSSB LDC / Junior Assistant Phase II typing speed tests. Hindi and English are both compulsory, and each correct word earns marks.
02Rules
- 1Each mock test uses its own fixed passage, so you can retake it and compare results.
- 2Choose your Hindi keyboard layout - InScript, Remington GAIL or Kruti Dev - before the test begins. It cannot be changed during the test.
- 3Duration: 10 minutes per language. Hindi is typed first, then English.
- 4Hindi: 400-word passage, 0.0625 marks per correct word. English: 500-word passage, 0.05 marks per correct word.
- 5You need at least 9 of 25 marks in each paper: 144 correct words in Hindi, 180 in English.
- 6Wrong words earn nothing, but there is no negative marking.
- 7Once you press Space or Enter, the previous word is locked. Backspace works only inside the word you are typing.
- 8Hindi is typed in DevLys 010 (Remington keys). Alt, Ctrl and the function keys are disabled in the exam.
03How you are scored
Marks = correct words x 0.0625 (Hindi) or x 0.05 (English). Net speed = correct words / 10; 14.4 WPM Hindi or 18 WPM English = 9 marks.
04Important notes
- Each language also has a 10-minute MS Word efficiency paper worth 25 marks, which this practice does not cover.
- Typing is 100 of the 300 merit marks.
