01About this test

Rajasthan High Court LDC / JJA / JA computer speed test. Hindi and English are both compulsory, and the marks count towards your merit.

02Rules

  1. 1Each mock test uses its own fixed passage, so you can retake it and compare results.
  2. 2Choose your Hindi keyboard layout - InScript, Remington GAIL or Kruti Dev - before the test begins. It cannot be changed during the test.
  3. 3Duration: 5 minutes per language. Hindi is typed first, then English.
  4. 4Minimum speed: 8,000 key depressions an hour - about 26.7 words a minute, or 667 keys in 5 minutes.
  5. 5Each language is worth 25 marks; the speed test is 50 of the 100 computer-test marks.
  6. 6Backspace and the arrow keys are disabled. Keep going after a mistake.
  7. 7Full mistakes count 1; half mistakes (spacing, capitalisation, punctuation, transposition, paragraph) count 0.5.
  8. 8Hindi is typed in Kruti Dev 010 on the Remington keyboard; Mangal is not accepted.

03How you are scored

Gross words = key depressions / 5. Net WPM = (gross words - full mistakes - half mistakes x 0.5) / 5 minutes. Pass = 26.7 WPM (8,000 KDPH).

04Important notes

  • The computer test also has a 10-minute MS Word efficiency paper worth 50 marks, which this practice does not cover.
  • The High Court has not published how speed turns into marks; this practice subtracts wrong words, the stricter reading.
