01About this test
MP CPCT typing section. English and Hindi are both typed, 15 minutes each, and the scorecard is valid for seven years.
02Rules
- 1Each mock test uses its own fixed passage, so you can retake it and compare results.
- 2Choose your Hindi keyboard layout - InScript, Remington GAIL or Kruti Dev - before the test begins. It cannot be changed during the test.
- 3Duration: 15 minutes per language. English is typed first, then Hindi.
- 4Qualifying speed: 30 net WPM in English and 20 net WPM in Hindi.
- 5Net WPM = (words typed - wrong words) / 15. Each wrong word costs a whole word.
- 6Backspace is allowed throughout.
- 7The screen highlights the current word and wrong words, and scrolls the passage for you.
- 8Hindi is typed in Unicode on InScript or Remington GAIL - you choose the layout before the test.
03How you are scored
Net WPM = (words typed - wrong words) / 15 minutes. Qualify at 30 WPM English and 20 WPM Hindi.
04Important notes
- Higher speeds earn a higher scaled typing score - 30 WPM English and 20 WPM Hindi only reach the qualifying band.
- CPCT also has a 75-minute MCQ section on computer and general awareness, which this practice does not cover.
